The trials were conducted by the department of Horticu! ture of the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine of the Federal University of Goiãs. Goiânia. Concerning total yield of both trials, Spunta was the most productive cultivar and Jaerla, the less productive. Spunta and Patrones ranked first in yielding big tubers. over 50 mm in diameter with an average weight over 140 g. Jaerla showed to be significantly earlier than the other cultivars and less produc­tive. Spunta was the first to emerge and developed strong. dark green foliage.
