In this scenario, identity changes seems to be a logical constant of the subjects involved in ethnological research. Thus, Kalankó, high hinterland Indians, government and anthropologist are dynamically metamorphosing themselves. In this process, the mixture question is central. This text seeks to understand especially the process by Kalankó classified as “braiada” metamorphosis. This process according to Kalankó is related to the category of “braiada” fur, which is central to organize the whole community.
