The study highlights the socio-linguistic assimilation with which different ethnic groups welcomed Portuguese due to need or affectivity (CAMBRIDGE, 2000). Regarding this point, Braggio’s (1992) studies direct the acquisition of language to the socio cultural reality; consequently, we make referential descriptions about immigration in Goiás.
