The animais were submitted to phlebotomy and sacrificed at different times: thirty minutes, 7, 15, 21, 30, 37, 45, 52 and 60 days after the infection (DAI). The results demonstrated that the infection induced an increase in the hematocrit and the mean corpuscular volume (MCV) and caused anemia between 21 and 45 DAI . Around the day 60, a reduction of the hematocrit was observed. Among the relative values of the differential count, lymphocitopenia, neutrophilia, monocytosis and eosinophilía varying from 2,25% to 8,25% were detected.
