The theoretical perspective is Cognitive Linguistics. We selected two fake news, deemed false by Agência Lupa and Uol Confere. These fake news were analyzed considering the notions of prototypicality, frames, Gestalt and compression. The results revealed that fake news, understood as verbal manifestations that simulate the journalistic structure, inserted in a context of polarized ideological clash, tend to present marks of emotion and informality, aswell as factual falsehood regarding the disclosed content, with the purpose of deceiving the interlocutor.
