The objective of this study was to evaluate the chemical properties of an Latossolo Vermelho distrófico (Oxisol) under fire kills (MQ) and preserved forest (MP) in the Botanical Garden in urban areas, Goiânia-GO, observing the values found from the classical statistical and spatial variability areas. Samples were collected on the walls of mini trench at depths of 0-5, 5-10, 10-20 and 20-40 cm, obtaining (30 samples / area x two depths two study areas) totaling 240 samples for each variable. Soil sampling was done in two different periods: MQ - Burnt forest and MP - preserved forest. Data from each of the soil chemical properties were submitted to analysis of descriptive statistics, the average comparison by the Tukey test at 5% significance level, the geostatistical study. The geostatistical analysis showed that the variables pH and P, to the area of MQ did not present spatial dependence. Chemical attributes presented spatial dependence at a depth of 0-5 cm in the area of MQ, setting the exponential model MOS, H+Al and Al3+. For the variables, K+, Ca2+ and Mg2+ were adjusted to a spherical model.
