The present work aims to present and discuss topics relative to geodiversity, such as: geological heritage, geoconservation, geopark and geotourism. Finally, a brief overview of the state of the art related to geodiversity of the state of Goiás. For the accomplishment of this work a bibliographic review of national and international publications related to the subjects on geodiversity was made. The term geodiversity has been diffused in several countries concomitantly with discussions related to the protection, conservation and preservation of nature. Studies on geodiversity and geological heritage in the state of Goiás are still incipient.
