Both poems mobilize symbolic elements that point to a community proposal, marked by the recognition of a common identity that would justify the effort of integration between the countries of Latin America. Taking these aspects into account, we examine in this article the aesthetic choices made by the authors to build an Americanist identity -the political horizon for which they beckon-, and how they resume and update stereotypes linked to the cultural conditions in Latin America.porAcesso Abertohttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/América LatinaIdentidadeThiago de MelloFerreira GullarLatin AmericaIdentityConfigurações da identidade latino-americana nos poemas “O coração latino-americano”, de Thiago de Mello, e “Nós, latino-americanos”, de Ferreira GullarConfigurations of Latin-American identity in the poems “O coração latino-americano”, by Thiago de Mello, and “Nós latino-americanos”, by Ferreira GullarArtigo
