Indeed, the discussion about this issue has been enhanced in the contemporary world, after the adoption of the term as ‘word of the year’ by the Oxford Dictionary, in 2016, considering the specific nature of symbolic conflicts in social networks. To this end, it discusses, initially, the different concepts of truth, from a philosophical perspective, ranging from its background to pragmatic notions, making a thorough analysis of this notion from a communicational viewpoint.
