Salinda and Cida are characters who come into confrontation with the world and, therefore, undertake the encounter with the self, aphenomenon manifested in the very self-centered structure of the narratives, which locate subjectivities in the context of speaking subjects, opening up the (re)construction of the context based on taking self-perception. The look in the mirror for Evaristo's characters is a process of decolonization of the self.
