Polifonia, Cuiabá, v. 21, n. 29, p. 91-127, jan./jul. 2014.http://repositorio.bc.ufg.br/handle/ri/19786I seek in this paper to present an interpretation founded on decolonial theoretical perspectives on rap music discourses produced by indigenous groups in Latin America. I argue that in critically appropriating a cultural style whose communication power crosses borders and creates contestatory coalition networks, Indigenous peoples also appropriate the historically denied enunciation and challenge, thus, the hegemony of global projects from their local stories marked by violence and exclusion. Furthermore, I emphasize that attention to this kind of contemporary cultural expression can reveal border epistemological potential based on marginalized histories and bodies, especially to the field of language studies.porAcesso Abertohttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/DecolonialidadeDecolonialityRap indígenaEpistemologia fronteiriçaIndigenous rap musicBorder epistemologyO potencial contra-hegemônico do rap indígena na América Latina sob a perspectiva decolonialThe counter-hegemonic potential of indigenous rap in Latin America since a decolonial perspectiveArtigo
