Objective: To understand how the theme is characterized "evaluation" in this context. The method was applied to the scientometric study on thematic “evaluation”. Uses quantitative and qualitative approach to descriptive and explanatory nature. Data collection was performed on the database BRAPCI in the period from 1972 to 2012, using the search term "evaluation" in the title, abstract and keywords. Treatment and data analysis was performed by using the program Microsoft Excel Stanter 2010. Results: 348 articles met recovered Brapci Database, published in 30 different journals, produced by 545 authors. The year that there was a higher number of articles was produced in 2009 (36 articles). The Information Science magazine was the most productive, with 83 published articles. The theme was produced more "scientific evaluation and \ or technology" totaling 86 articles.
