However, recent molecular phylogenies positioned it near to Wendlandia (Ixoroideae), but locate A. longifolia near to the clade Ixoroidinae II. The study of A. longifolia afforded two coumarins, five flavonoids, three triterpenoids and one benzoic acid derivative.
