Proteomic analysis is one of the most used techniques to study proteins differentially expressed in a cell when infected by microorganisms. In this way, the proteomic analysis can provide important information on the pathogen-cell relationship, pathogenesis of the microorganism, as well as contribute to the identification of target molecules that may be useful both for the development of vaccines as well as for markers, diagnostics and therapeutics.
