Sornetimes he cannot even understand what happens around hirn; transforrnations are so vertiginous, fast, and brutal, that he can hardly follow thern. ln this paper Benjamin appears as the flâneur, whose notion according to him translates the mobility spirit rnodernity introduces. To do so, it is crucial to discuss the notion of space, particularly the urban space of Paris.
