The supra-empirical conditions designated by the concepts of meaning and value as well as the distinction between the practical significance of a theory or theoretical interpretation and their respective cognitive value, may clarify aspects of historical knowledge that immunize it of the guilt-consciousness generated by the fact of it to be held hostage to the discourse and language.
