The work is divided into two stages: Firstly, the theoretical construction of the formation and constitution of the psychic subject for psychoanalysis is presented, highlighting the influence of culture in this process. Subsequently, the contemporary culture is contrasted with Freud's observations, along with the recent neoliberal culture and its mechanisms of neoliberal discourse, which influence the modern understanding of psychological suffering, leading to a distortion in psychiatry and the medicalization of everyday life. In the second stage of the work, an integrative review of academic publications from the last decade on the topic is presented, based on a psychoanalytic theoretical framework.
