The analysis of this phenomenon will take into account its social construction and its manifestations within the school context across different instances. The objective is to map the scientific production on school violence in the Central-West region of Brazil. The article seeks to problematize: 1) the delineation of the concept of violence adopted in the studies; 2) the types of violence identified; 3) the theoretical and methodological frameworks guiding the discussions and analyses; 4) the context and profile of the research subjects; 5) the research findings; and 6) the proposals for addressing the issue within the scope of public policies, anti-violence programs, interventions, and referrals. The database was compiled from searches in the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior and Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações databases using the following descriptors: school violence, violence in/of schools, and bullying. The results reveal the existence of 69 dissertations, 12 theses, and 39 scientific articles, which were published in well-ranked journals according to the Qualis criteria, with good representation from each state in the Central-West region. It was observed that the majority of studies adopted a qualitative research perspective, anchored in a plurality of theoretical and thematic bases.
