The catalyst was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and it was identified as cordierite. The leaching of the supported noble metal catalysts was evaluated in aqua regia solution (3:1 v/v, HCl to HNO ) and sulfonitric mixture (1:1 v/v, H SO to 3 2 4 HNO ) at different time. The separation of the components of a mixture leached was carried through 3 with an ion exchange resin to 2-vinylpyridine-divinylbenzene (DVB-2- VPY) and metal eluted from the resin were analyzed by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS).
