Blood samples were obtained from 125 persons with no apparent disease and from 413 patients with the virchowian, tuberculoid and indeterminate form of hanseniasis. The results showed no difference between the controls and the pathients with the virchowian form of the diseases, but a decrease in relation to the tuberculoid and indeterminate forms. No statistically significam differences were detected among the three forms of the disease. Time of treatment did not modify the number of peripheral blood lymphocytes in patients with hanseniasis.porAcesso AbertoArtigo
