Besides always seeing language in context, the ecology of communicatie interaction is its nucleus. Therefore, what tradition considers “language”, i.e., grammar, is considered as part of interactional rules: systemic rules (grammar) also exist to enhance understanding. The essay argues further that the distinction between “língua” and “linguagem” – which does not exists in Germanic languages – is important for ditinguishing certain situations: the former refers to what we could call “full language”; the latter designates situations like that of deaf people that interact with members of their families by means of domestic signs, among other possibilities. In summary, “língua” is a specific and special type of “languagem”.porAcesso Abertohttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/EcolinguísticaLíngua e linguagemLínguas de sinasSinais domésticosLíngua como interaçãoEcolinguistics“Língua” and “linguagem”Sign languagesDomestic signsLanguage as interactionA Ecolinguística e o estudo das línguas de sinais: língua, linguagem e sinais domésticosArtigo
