Acesso em: 31 jul. 2024.2236-1782http://repositorio.bc.ufg.br//handle/ri/25173The article analyzes books written by travelers – most of them politicians of the state of Paraná and militaries from Rio de Janeiro – who traveled to West Paraná, the border region between Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina, during the first half of the 20thcentury and built narratives that treat the place based on the theme of denationalization of the border. The article argues that this nationalist view – which denounced the absence of Brazilian nationality on the border, motivated by the strong presence of Argentine and Paraguayan immigrants and the predominant use of the Spanish and Guarani languages – can’t be understood as a uniform discourse, since there were different ways to elaborate and hold national positions, all of them articulated with the social relationships experi-enced by the different travelers and connected with the projects idealized for the country.porAcesso Abertohttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Tríplice fronteiraParaguaiosFronteiriçosOeste do ParanáSertãoTripe borderParaguayansBorder peopleWest ParanáWildernessEntre viagens e narrativas de desnacionalização: a fronteira brasileira com a Argentina e o Paraguai nas décadas de 1920 a 1940Between travels and narratives about denationalization: the Brazilian border with Argentina and Paraguay from the 1920s to the 1940sArtigo10.4013/hist.2019.233.04
