For the experimental design of the study, the map of the microregion was divided into 47 squares, from which 25 were ramdomly selected to be visited for blood sample collections. Blood was collected from 10% of the animals in each property. The total sera sample was 180 as determined by mathematical model. The results showed a very high prevalence of B. bovis by ELISA (98,9%) and IFAT (100%). The prevalence for B. bigemina was even high with 94,4% and 93,3% by IFAT and ELISA, respectively. The results did not show any significant statistical difference (P<0,05) and demonstrated an agreement between the two methods. The results of this study allowed the caracterization of the region as a stable area for B. bovis and B. bigemina, which indicated a potential risk of economic losses for trade cattle introduced from non enzootic areas.porAcesso AbertoBabesioseBovinosReação de imunofluorescência indiretaELISABabesia bovisBabesia bigeminaBabesiosisCattleIndirect fluorescent antibody testEstudo da prevalência de anticorpos anti-babesia bovis e anti-babesia bigemina em bovinos de leite da microrregião de Goiânia determinada pelos testes de imunofluorescência indireta e elisaStudies on the prevalence of antibodies against babesia bigemina and babesia bovis in dairy cattle in the microregion of Goiânia by the indirect fluorescent antibody test and elisaArtigo
