In Portugal, the Military Order of St. John of Jerusalem or the Hospital, became the guardian of this fragment of the Holy Cross which is preserved in the Vera Cruz Marmelar's church. This object was present at crucial moments in the history of Portuguese monarchy, especially during the Middle Ages.porAcesso AbertoRelíquiasImaginárioOoder simbólicoRelicImaginarySymbolic powerA relíquia do Santo Lenho em Portugal: narrativas de milagresThe relic of the holy cross in Portugal: narratives of miraclesArtigoDOI: 10.5216/hr.v19i1.3051
