Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Bacharelado em Design de Moda) - Faculdade de Artes Visuais, Universidade Federal de Goiás, Goiânia, 2022.https://repositorio.bc.ufg.br//handle/ri/30274The main subject of study is to relate fashion and literature as two social phenomena that intertwine, basing the research on the book Dom Casmurro, and representing this connection through the creation, the modeling and the development of a conceptual male costume. From this perspective, the objective is to understand the social events of the Realist period in Brazil (1881-1893), the events and customs that guided the dressing habits of people at the time and, consequently, of Machado de Assis' characters. Therefore, an analysis of the descriptions of the clothes through the vision of the narrator character Bentinho will be done, as well as of the clothes construction techniques narrated in the magazine A Estação, the main fashion reference of that time, published in the same period that the aforementioned book was placed. The form and the tailoring methods contemporanies to the character narrative will be studied in order to understand the form of the clothes at the requesting historical moment. The study is based on a bibliographic and experimental research. Fashion magazines and technical periodicals from the tailoring of the period will be used. The research explores physical files in private archives as well as digital libraries and museums. The sources are fundamental to guide the understanding of the shapes of the clothes proposed for the masculine and for the understanding of the techniques of geometric modeling, basis of the Victorian tailoring of the period, as a creative process and a tool for both interpretation and construction of the form. In addition, the objective is to model and make a current conceptual male costume of two pieces based on the descriptions of apparel provided by the character Bentinho in Dom Casmurro and on the informations from the magazine A Estacão, in order to represent the literary feeling through garment.porAcesso Abertohttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ModaLiteraturaSociedadeVestuárioModelagem vitorianaFashionLiteratureSocietyApparelVictorian modelingModa e literatura: uma proposta conceitual inspirada em Dom CasmurroFashion and literature: a conceptual proposal inspired by Dom CasmurroTrabalho de conclusão de curso de graduação (TCCG)
