This research investigated the communication policy in five radio stations in Aparecida de Goiânia city. We aimed at comparing the theoretical and legal concepts of community broadcast with those means of communication praxis, focusing on their history, type of management, relationship with the community, programming, staff and financial support. A bibliographic and exploratory research was done, and the results allow us to say that the theoretical concept is an ideal not yet achieved by those community radio stations already mentioned, especially in terms of popular participation.
