The experience must be guided by the teacher to provide students with questions about their social and cultural reality, as well as their perception of themselves in relation to their reality. This allows the student to reflect on how he can respect the way he thinks, feels and sees his colleague. This process will reflect on the classroom as a whole, providing an inclusive environment for visual arts classes. Therefore, our work included a careful look at public policies, a theoretical basis on the main philosophies of teaching visual arts, such as Dewey and Ana Mae Barbosa. At the same time in return, we were able to perceive the survival power of art in the country and the interest it arouses in the most diverse layers, “Arte na Praça” show us how this ambiguity translates into our daily lives and how certain concepts are constructed and deconstructed within diffuse and mistaken methodologies in art education.
