Classificação em unidades de informação escolar: um mapeamento em instituições particulares de nível fundamental de Goiânia

This study examines scholar library classification, based on the classification system, or its adaptated form. It draws on school libraries into private educational institutions located in Goiânia, we used a descritive and qualitative approach to present data able to demonstrate which are the most used systems in there. The informations was provided by intervews, through a semi structured script, that we applied to workers responsible for the library and/or the ‘reading corner’. The results show that librarary classification, in the above defined locus, is predominantly made by alternative classification systems, two of them use traditional ones, but three do not use any scheme. We concluded this way that the collection used by elementary school students are not organized by proper professionals, and they are not able to supply the information unity a proper classification.
