Resumo
This study presents psychography as a source of Information in the production of legal evidence. A literature review on information sources and legal information source was elaborated as well as important concepts about the Brazilian Penal Law. The objective was to conduct a research on psychography as an information source in the legal evidence production. To achieve this, a study about the main case involving psychography inside legal environment was conducted. This is the case concerning the history of two friends that meanwhile maneauvering and playing with a gun accidently shoot it, causing the death of one of them as the other friend faced a murder charge. As the process went on a newspaper clipping containing a psychograph message by famous medium Francisco Cândido Xavier was attached, dictated by the spirit of the deceased friend. The judge in this case delivered a sentence acquitting the accused, this sentence was appealed to the Court Jury, which also absolved the defendant's charge. Many aspects must still be raised in this kind of research, but the main approaches have been presented, as the main objective to raise and explain this kind of legal proof that's still controversial and poorly understood.
