Resumo
Characterizes the overview of utilization electronic record and his professional handling at the
hospitals and clinics in Goiânia, Goiás. Object: explore about the electronic format of record
and: characteristics and specificities; utilization at clinics and hospitals in Goiania; how is
realized his handling; stocktaking of used software for the management electronic record, in
order to identify his certification for the Federal Medicine Council and the Brazilian Society
of Health Informatics; which professionals are connected to the handling of this document,
check if there is insertion the information professional inside this hospitals units. Method:
used the scientific method for the research. The approach opted was qualitative and
quantitative. Character the research is quantitative. Data collected from a questionnaire that
was applied for delimitation of relevant information in relation to research objectives. This
questionnaire became possible transformation of this information in quantitative data. Were
counted 30 hospitals and clinics in Goiania, including public, private or covenant units.
Research corpus was composed for 9 healthcare institutions divided into: (5) publics, (3)
privates and (1) covenant. Processing and analysis for the collected data was made by
Microsoft Office Excel 2007. Results: with the technical and insightful analysis from the data
noted the electronic record still is little utilized at healthcare institutions at Goiania. Noted that
the units have used the electronic format is around 22% of respondents. Another aspects is
that units that used the traditional format (paper) of the record, which was 67% in total, are
satisfied with this format and his form of handling/recovery.
