Estrutura populacional e brotamento de três espécies nativas do cerrado em diferentes regimes de queimadas

Resumo

The present study evaluated the influence of different fire regimes on the population structure and number of sprouts of two tree species: Roupala montana and Stryphnodendron adstringens and a shrubby: Rourea induta. The study was conducted at the Ecological Reserve of IBGE, Brasília, DF, Brazil, in areas of cerrado sensu stricto: protected from fire, burned with biennial and quadrennial burnt. Five plots of 20 x 50 m in each area (plants with ≥ 5 cm diameter) and a subplot of 10 x 10 m within each plot (diameter <5 cm) were demarcated. Population structure of plants and the density and diameter of sprouts was evaluated. The spatial distribution was different between the shrub and tree species, but the fire did not affect their distribution. The quadrennial and protected areas had higher plant density and regrowth for the tree species, while the biennial area showed higher plant density and regrowth for the shrub species. In biennial area height and diameter of the three species were lower. Thus, in areas subjected to frequent burning tree species have decreased their populations, whereas the shrubby has colonized the environment through budding.
