Comparação entre procedimentos utilizados para inventariar pequenos povoamentos florestais

Resumo

The quantification of solid volume in forest stands is essential for a proper management of forests and for commercial timber. However sampling methods traditionally used in forest inventories are costly and expensive and thus extremely important to use rapid and accurate methods, the method of the average tree and the tree stratified medium. Given that the objective was to compare three sampling methods for inventorying small forest planted, two based solely on measurements of diameter and the method traditionally used by forest companies, with the volume obtained by scaling. We used a completely randomized design, where each was considered a treatment method. At the end of the study showed that the methods of obtaining the volume studied showed no significant differences considering the level of significance = 0.05. However, the methods based only on measurements of diameters, in general showed a tendency to overestimate the volume. The results showed that all methods provided reliable estimates of volume per unit area can be used for forest inventories.
