Resumo
Osteosarcoma is a malignant neoplasms bone, heterogeneous with diverse histologic patterns and unknown etiology. The probable diagnosis can be based on clinical history, physical examination, and radiographic findings, but confirmation is made by histopathological examination. The technique of immunohistochemical investigation provides improved characteristics histogenéticas from the osteosarcoma tumor cells and the expression of specific antibodies provides improved estimation of prognosis and patient survival. Surgical removal is essential while chemotherapy and radiotherapy remain few efficient, which generates efforts to the discovery of new chemotherapeutic agents. Among pets, the dog is the one with the clinical presentation, biological behavior, complications and results with greater similarity to human osteosarcoma.
