Efeito da estacionalidade na produção de matéria seca e composição bromatológica da Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu

Resumo

The experiment was carried out at Embrapa Rice and Bean aiming to evaluate the dry matter production and bromatological composition of Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu. The research was developed in a medium fertility Dark Red Latosol. This area was occupied by annual crops, sporadically limed and fertilized. Initially, the ground stay without crops during one year where the Brachiaria brizantha was grown. The total area measured 16 hectares, divided in 3.2 ha plots. The pasture was cut down for plant uniformization. Thirty four animals were maintained in grazing rotation alternating eight days of occupation in each plot and others five plots were maintained in resting during 32 days. The forage was sampled weekly, before animal access in each new plot, to observe the evolution of dry matter production and the bromatological composition. The low temperature and the lack of soil humidity were the factor that influenced on Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu productivity and quality.
