Resumo
ln this article, the author examines the process the process of Iand occupation in Goiás, taking as a background the different historical moments of the cattle, agricultura!, and agro-cattle fronts. ln the following, he characterizes an institutional framework that guarantees such model of large scale Iand occupation. Finally, it is examined how other social groups participate in this process, especially occupation thrc;iugh posse and grilagem.
