Resumo
This is a qualitative study using drawing as a methodological resource to socialize
knowledge in the environmental education field with special focus on the Brazilian
savannah biome. Two drawing workshops are described. The first one was held in
the 2007 State of Goiás Science Fair, an event organized by the state office of
education in the Flamboyant Shopping Center. The second workshop took place in a
state school in the northwest of Goiânia – Go, and was attended by primary and
secondary students. In both cases simple drawing techniques were used to
illustrate flowers and leaves from typical savannah plants thereby enabling ample
participation. Besides the drawing activities, the participants were alerted about a number of Savannah plant species in danger of extinction, thereby contributing
towards an ecologically sustainable society.
