Ultrassom na doença coronariana

Resumo

Objective: To evaluate the use of ultrasound as a diagnostic and adjunct tool in coronary artery disease. Methods: We searched the database BVS with the following keywords: ultrasound and coronary heart disease. Of the 816 articles retrieved, 19 were selected to compose this review. An article found on a specialized site was also added. Results : The use of ultrasound in coronary disease may predict or prevent acute events as well as being an adjunct to therapeutic procedures. The vascular ultrasound is a great technique for quantification of luminal area, the volume and size of the board. Due to the high cost, risk of stroke and other complications, the exclusive use of noninvasive tests have been advocated. Conclusion: Despite the range of possibilities, ultrasound cannot diagnose early events and plaque vulnerability
