Resumo
This research was dedicated to understanding the profile of distribution of cash resources to shareholders in a mining company. To achieve the objective, a case study was carried out, in which the distribution of resources to shareholders, presented in the Financing Activities of the
Cash Flow Statements of the mining company Vale S.A., for the quarterly periods from 2011 to 2019 was tested. An average test was carried out to identify whether, after the environmental disaster in Mariana-MG (2015), the distribution of resources to shareholders underwent significant changes. For explanatory purposes, the distribution of resources to shareholders carried out after the environmental disaster in Brumadinho-MG (2019) was also tested. It was concluded that, after the occurrence of the aforementioned environmental disasters, the transactions of funds with Vale S.A.'s shareholders did not undergo any significant changes.
