Resumo
This paper reports and discusses a study in a foreign language classroom and seeks to understand the interaction and collaboration among learners in the process of writing and rewriting texts in English. In order to do so, we conducted a qualitative research, in which we recorded audio interactions of the students, observed classes, interviewed participants and analyzed the texts produced by them. The classes involved writing and rewriting activities, and during them the students interacted and collaborated with their peers. Through the interactions, we observed that students have become more attentive authors because they were able to reflect upon the mistakes they committed and that were corrected in collaboration with their peers. We have also noticed an exchange of language skills, since a more proficient author in English could help their peer in the process of writing and rewriting texts.
