A vacinação contra a gripe em idosos na Unidade de Saúde da Família São José

Resumo

Objective: To investigate whether the vaccine campaign is effective or not, we propose a transversal prospective research with seniors served by USF São José. Methods: The subjects were 80 elderly (individuals older than 60 years old). Results: Data collection wasdone through interviews with the elderly. Within the male population, 77% has been vaccinated at some point. In women, this value rises to 82%. The reason that most led to vaccinate was the fear of becoming ill (40%). Among the reasons for non-immunization it was observed that the lack of information, time and the belief that the vaccine does not work were the most prevalent. As for the means of obtaining information, the healthy communitarian agents are the most important. It was also observed that most seniors believe that the vaccine and vaccination campaign works and even seniors who said they did not believe in the efficacy of the vaccine, was vaccinated. Conclusions: It was noted that there was acceptance of the population regarding the vaccine and vaccination campaign. The strategies used to promote the campaign were effective. The campaign reached its goals, watching over 70% of the interviewed population.
