Formação cultural de professores: o problema da formação prévia e o desafio da ressignificação da cultura

The present end of course assignment aims to highlight the importance of a cultural formation of teachers that proposes to resignifying culture in the academic experience of pedagogues in initial training. It is intended to start a discussion so that we can understand to what extent the previous cultural formation of scholars can determine their observations at the university, since access to cultural goods is difficult for a large portion of the population. In this case, understanding culture as opportunities for access to information, leisure, and arts, since large part and of them are working class, not leaving them energy for the experience of cultural practices. In addition, unequal material conditions are evident when we live in the daily life of the University, in particular, in the pedagogy course of UFG. Thinking about this, the meeting point between this pre-university culture and the higher education culture itself was drawn, based on the work of Monique Andries Nogueira (2008), who has already discussed on this subject in this faculty in previous years. It was analyzed the guide documents that contribute to the composition of the curriculum of the pedagogy course of the Faculty of Education of the Federal University of Goiás, focusing on cultural formation. Among these documents are the Political Pedagogical Project of the institute, the curricular guidelines for the training of teachers in force and recent discussions, between government and entities, which will bring changes to the structure of the curriculum of this and other teacher training courses. We used the debates of Adorno, Denis Cuche and Raymond Williams, which bring reflections on the concept of culture. Raymond Williams in particular, deals with resignification. At the conclusion, questions and possibilities are raised for the cultural formation of teachers to have its resignification role, respecting the previous culture of the academics, enabling the opening of their cultural universe so that in the university they are presented to what, in other ways, they would not have access and, moreover, challenging the national curriculum guidelines.
