O livro didático na educação infantil: uma análise crítica

The present work, entitled "The textbook in early childhood education: critical analysis" aims to promote a comparative analysis between the content and methodology of teaching resources for Early Childhood Education in the documents: National Curriculum Guidelines for Early Childhood Education (DCNEI, 2010); Common National Curriculum Base (BNCC, 2018); and the textbook collection “Eu Gosto Mais, Integrado: Educação Infantil” (2018). Thus, we problematize the accentuated content present in the teaching material. To develop the proposed theme, we carry out research by theorists who collaborate to build critical education, such as: Brisolla (2015); Brandão and Selva (1999); Munakata (2012); Nosella (1978). From the verification of the inefficiency of the textbook content, in helping to achieve the objectives and skills contained in these documents, as well as studies on the legal aspects of Early Childhood Education, as the first stage of basic education, and the commodification of the textbook as a product of the Cultural Industry, we ask: “Is the potential of childhood met when the teacher has the textbook as his only guide?” The analysis revealed that the BNCC and the DCNEI enable and encourage learning based on interaction and play in everyday school life, with the active mediation of the teacher and the child's participation. Contrary to the textbook, which prioritizes school content that advocates the curriculum for Early Childhood Education and reduces the teacher's action, as it only follows certain content. Consequently, professional teaching develops a pedagogical practice limited to the content of the textbook, which can compromise the various possibilities of working and instigate children's potential, such as creativity.
