Resumo
This research examined the situation of the phonographic market now a days. Since
the popularization of new communication technologies, such as the Internet, the phonographic
market has undergone profound changes in its format. This study case is made about the
English Band Radiohead, renowned in the world market phonographic, which changes its
own structure to break its record on innovation and strategy for launch of its seventh studio
album, called In Rainbows. The Radiohead released the album on their official website under
the model "pay as you wish", which means: the fan could choose whether or not to pay for
downloading the album and in case he chooses to pay, he could choose the amount to be paid.
The strategy of the Band resulted in an incredibly commercial success and brought to light the
discussion of new marketing’s music formats, allowed by Internet. Through a context of
current situation of the today’s phonographic market and the study case about the Radiohead
Band, this research discusses the influence surface of Internet in this new structure of the
music marketing.
