Resumo

The study aims to investigate the information behavior of students in two pre-university courses in Goiânia. It describes the need for them to seek information which they need in their daily lives. To this end, we prepared a literature review focused on the themes need, search, use and sources of information. The research is quantitative and descriptive, with a return of 265 questionnaires. From the data collected and the results, it was found that most students seeking information to study for the exam and have as the main sources of information handouts and internet search engines. Regarding the importance and use of the library to support the studies, it was found that most of them goes to a library, with the primary purpose of studying the material the same. We recommend future studies to deepen the qualitative nature questions, as well as the development of information literacy programs in schools that facilitate the inclusion of students in the information society.
