Item Arquitetura e modernidades na educação secundarista em Goiânia (1937- 1971)(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2020-06-02) Cardoso, Bárbara Maria; Mahler, Christine Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8047665415543107; Mello, Fernando Antônio Oliveira; Resende, Sandra Catharinne Pantaleão; Mahler, Christine RamosResumo em língua estrangeira: The present study seeks to investigate schoolar architecture in Goiânia from two ensembles of buildings, corresponding to different periods of Modernity: the first one, related to the stage of construction of the city, from 1933 to 1950, and the second one, in the stage of consolidation of the city – related to its growth, from 1950 to 1971 – a moment marked by the search for progress in the country and in the state of Goiás, when there was a change in paradigms in Brazilian education with the rupture of teaching patterns adopted until then. The purpose of the research, in the field of Theory and History of Architecture, is to observe how the transformations in the selected school buildings took place, in both scenarios, based on analytical categories and architectural and urbanistic attributes. Initially, it is necessary to recover the historical context and the approach of the theoretical paradigms of Education to understand the pedagogical assumptions and programmatic needs - and of Architecture - as a translation of the educational needs -, referring to the time frame. Thus, the two architectural ensembles will be confronted as to the characteristics - typological, compositional, plastic-formal, functional, constructive and tectonic - and urban - implementation, relationship in the urban landscape and in the history of the city. The contribution to the historiography of Goiânia applied to Education, in addition to the documentation itself, can stimulate reflections about Architecture, Education and the city.Item Enclaves periféricos de segregação socioespacial: região sudeste de Goiânia(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2023-05-31) Duarte, Jhonier Silva Santos; Rezende, Wagner de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6091908383087318; Mahler, Christine Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8047665415543107; Mahler, Christine Ramos; Rezende, Wagner de Souza; Castro, Luiz Guilherme Rivera de; Ramos, Gabriel TeixeiraThe work has as object of analysis the socio-spatial transformations in the Southeast region of Goiânia, planned capital of the state of Goiás, with an approach to its development as a peripheral space and with biases of representations of a socio-spatial segregation, highlighted by the perception of a double standard of peripheralization, with contrasting spatial models for high and low social classes, exemplified by the high-standard horizontal condominiums and low-income neighborhoods, respectively. The proposal, therefore, aims at analyzing and categorizing the production of urban space in this spatial clipping, initially through readings directed to research, with emphasis on conceptual investigation on the themes of centers, centralities, peripheries, urbanization, production of space, and socio-spatial segregation. Thus, a study will be made between the years 1970 and 2020, to show how the social production of space that formed it establishes a segregation between similiar and different spaces, and the complexities of this direct and indirect dispute between socio-spatial dynamics. For its development, methodological procedures will be made of bibliographic review in scientific bases and documentary research with official data and historical records, in addition to the method of urban analysis for a deepening of the Southeast region, with theoretical rebatements and empirical perceptions, provided by field surveys, photographic, in digital databases and cartography elaboration. The contribution of the research shows that when dealing with a city admittedly unequal, Goiânia, through one of its regions, presents in its urban development the same characteristic of the formation of its peripheries and the contradictions of the typologies of use and occupation of land and space in the perspective of socio-spatial segregation, in addition to the critical dimension that the study raises.Item Jô Vasconcellos: contribuição à arquitetura pós-moderna no Brasil(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2021-05-20) d’Ávila, Pedro Henrique Gomes Cardoso; Mahler, Christine Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8047665415543107; Mahler, Christine Ramos; Ribeiro, Ana Amélia de Paula Moura; Mello, Fernando Antônio de OliveiraThis dissertation has as object of analysis the work of Jô Vasconcellos, produced between the years 1972 to 2000, corresponding to a historiographic gap on Brazilian postmodern architecture. Due to the lack of systematized studies on national postmodern languages, it was necessary to recover the discussion about postmodernism in general and its role in the international historiography and in Brazilian architecture in particular to insert the “patropi” version of Jô Vasconcellos in this context, to reveal the production of Jô Vasconcellos in the Brazilian scene. The main goal is to bring light to this character and to his production through the works, illustrating the complexity if the period in question, understanding the transformations of the international paradigms and the manifestations and appropriations in Brazilian territory are important for the understanding of contemporary architecture. Thus, with the specific goals, we sought to contextualize the factors of international influences manifested in the different critical aspects of the Modern Movement, to identify and map this production, aiming at understanding the scope of post-modern manifestations, to realize the importance of the pioneering spirit of Jô Vasconcellos through her architectural and editorial production. Thus, we will seek to understand the professional trajectory of Jô Vasconcellos and how the social, political and economic issues that influenced her performance. It is, therefore, a theoretical and historical-bibliographic reflection, in which the expected results contribute to a deepening of the theme, due to its multifaceted and complex character, which may bring light to the discussions and interpretations of the works of postmodern Bazilian architects.Item Grupoquatro: trajetória profissional na arquitetura e no urbanismo (1972-1990)(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2019-09-30) Rezende, Mayara Dayanne Sousa; Mahler, Christine Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8047665415543107; Mahler, Christine Ramos; Mello, Fernando Antônio Oliveira; Mello, Márcia Metran deThis dissertation presents a study about the professional trajectory of GRUPOQUATRO. The temporal clipping is from 1972 to 1990, also as a criterion for the selection of production, public and institutional projects in the cities of Goiânia and Palmas. As a special reference for the architecture goiana, it is expected to insert the team's production in a regional and national scope, from which local production cannot be dissociated. This work aims fundamental for throw bases for understanding the work and to provide subsidies for future research. The foundation of this office occurred in 1972, a society composed by architects Luiz Fernando Cruvinel Teixeira, Solimar Neiva Damasceno and Walmir Santos Aguiar, graduated from the University of Brasília (UnB) in 1968, and Walfredo Antunes de Oliveira Filho, the latter formed by Catholic University of Goiás in 1974, later incorporating other associates. One of the most striking features of this team was the concomitant on the scale projects production of building and city. GRUPOQUATRO worked mainly in the city of Goiânia, in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, after the project of the city of Palmas (1988) and due to the prestige that the office received with this feat, the project of the last capital of Brazil, conquering projects in other states, going beyond the cerrado of goiano. In this work four moments along this trajectory were characterized, linked to Brutalism, Prefabrication, Urban Scale and Monumentality, divided into two chapters and cities, Goiânia and Palmas. In the city of Goiânia, where the office followed its first paths, five projects were selected: the SESI Activities Center - Vila Canaã (1974), Goiás State Trade Federation (1983-1985), Papillon Hotel (1983-1987) and the Bus Terminal (1985-1986), linked to Brutalism and the Municipal Market (1984-1986), linked to Prefabrication. Palmas, was the watershed in the career of this office and a chapter apart in its history, a rare opportunity won by them. However, three projects were analyzed in the city of Palmas, one urban that corresponds to the project of the city of Palmas (1988-1990) and the other two are architectural projects, the Legislative Assembly (1990) and the Court of Justice (1990), both state buildings. The trajectory of the GRUPOQUATRO office brings with it lessons in architecture and urbanism.Item O córrego dos Buritis em Goiânia: paisagens e trajetos invisíveis(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2024-08-27) Vasconcelos, Jessica Pinheiro de; Mahler, Christine Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8047665415543107; Mahler, Christine Ramos; Cabral, Arthur Simões Caetano; Mello, Fernando Antonio OliveiraDue to a historical and global process of urbanization, natural spaces began to exist in the landscapes of large contemporary cities in a discontinuous way, whose remaining fragments in the urban fabric find themselves depending on political and economic interests to the detriment of their own natural way or even the current environmental legislation. The reality of water courses in Brazilian urbanized regions is, in this case, the maximum expression of the fragmentation of the natural landscape in cities then, in the process of occupying the territory, water is the first natural element to be desired, controlled, manipulated, delimited and disputed. It is inferred that the degradation of water landscapes in contemporary cities is the result of a historical process of appropriation of the natural landscape by human beings, which, at the mercy of hegemonic forces, occurred in an unreflective, rational and compulsory manner. Victims of this context, these courses lost their protagonism in the urban landscape, and, consequently, their participation in the collective imaginary about nature in the city. In Goiânia, the Buritis stream was gradually channeled and made invisible because, since the city's establishment in the 1930s, it was seen as a small course to be drained and its participation in the urban landscape was reduced to the section delimited for the Bosque of Buritis. Given the current invisibility of the waters of this stream and the lack of recognition regarding its existence, it is through the search for clues and signs of its participation in the urban landscape that this research intends to investigate it – portraying its landscape transformations over time and investigating the urban imaginary that surrounds it. The methods historiographic and case study enable the crossing between bibliographical research and historical-documentary investigation, the field survey of Buritis's invisible path and the collection of stories and reports from those people who, in some way, relate to it. Therefore, with the aim of portraying the landscape transformations undergone by this stream and investigating its urban imaginary, this research contributes not only to the historiography of Goiânia and to the recognition and appreciation of the natural landscape linked to Buritis, but also intends to guide future visions and approaches that involve watercourses and their natural landscapes in Goiânia.
