Item Possíveis paralelismos entre Os trabalhos os dias de Hesíodo e a República de Platão(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2018-08-30) Aguiar, Heloíse Cardoso da Silva; Palacios, José Gonzalo Armijos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0006749804556965; Palacios, José Gonzalo Armijos; Matos Júnior, Fábio Amorim de; Seneda, Marcos CésarIn Plato's Republic books II and III, Plato examines the poets' methods and their effects before the public, and in doing so concludes that they are not compatible with his educational goal, as they oppose his ethical conception and political project. However, when we read the poem Works and Days, we find a discourse that seeks to ground human action in an absolute conception of justice. And precisely because of this, it provides an important background for the construction of the conception of justice present in the Republic. Hence, this dissertation intends to establish parallelisms between the conception of justice of the poet Hesiod and the one Plato presents in the Republic with the objective of determining if, in fact, the poet's conception is so opposed to that of the philosopher as he presents it in the mentioned dialogue.Item Convencionalismo e naturalismo em Rousseau(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2013-09-17) Pagliaro, Heitor de Carvalho; Palacios, José Gonzalo Armijos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0006749804556965This dissertation investigates the concept of law in Rousseau, analyzing if he defends the idea of natural law or if he is a conventionalist. Some commentators, like Robert Derathé, conceive Rousseau as a naturalist, as opposed to others, like Charles Vaughan, who think that he is a conventionalist. Here we will critically assess those positions and will try to se if they exclude each other or if Rousseau can be read, somehow, as defending fundamental aspects of those two positions.Item O conceito de episteme em Platão: análises em diálogos do período intermediário ao da maturidade(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2016-09-26) Ramos Filho, José Silva; Palacios, José Gonzalo Armijos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0006749804556965; Damião, Carla Milani; Lopes, Rodolfo NunesThis dissertation focuses on the concept of episteme in Plato’s philosophy. We start from the presupposition that the philosopher introduces new hypotheses during the period of the intermediate dialogues. Foundations from this evaluation appear in Meno, where Plato distinguishes episteme from doxa and introduces the theory of anamnesis. In Phaedo, Thaetetus and Republic, Plato systematizes his ideas and develops important concepts, as aisthesis. Our intention is to find out how the philosopher treats and relates those concepts within the dialogues that we are going to analyze and, above all, we want to answer to the question: maintains Plato a conceptual unity regarding the meaning of episteme or changes his views as he evolves to a more mature conception in the aforementioned dialogues?
