This research performs a critical analysis about Criminal Psychology, through the mapping of desire regarding the perpetration of mass murders executed by young brazilians. To this end, the researcher uses the experimentation of a research method coined as “cartographic essay”, guided by the philosophy of difference and epistemological anarchism. By critically and historically analyzing the creation of assassination and the knowledge that supports it – the Criminology and the Criminal Psychology that supports it –, we intend to problematize the etiological logic that creates generic and reductionist criminal models. Therefore, as a way of highlighting this problem, this research redeem the relationship between desire and murder, analyzing the complex and unique criminal phenomenon that crosses the category of mass murder, highlighting how the desire of young people captured by this discourse operates – something that can be demonstrated by the study of a case accomplished at the end of the work, marked by singularity and contradiction.

The connection between psychoanalysis and literature is historical and advantageous, being present in both, in different ways and methods, the motivation in the description and the unveiling of the mysteries of the human soul. This research aims to carry out a freudian psychoanalytic investigation on human evilness from the novel Ensaio sobre a cegueira, investigating specific aspects of the broad spectrum that constitutes human evilness. The novel Ensaio sobre a cegueira, by José Saramago, based on the fictional account of an event in which unnamed characters lose their sight, offers us a portrait of humanity when deprived of one of its main senses and how much such loss modifies social relationships and society itself. Emphasis will be given to the psychoanalytical concepts of narcissism, masochism, sadism and death drive and their articulation with aggressiveness, cruelty and violence, observing their presence and development in Ensaio sobre a cegueira and its connection with question of human evilness.

The history of Brazilian psychology is a field of study with infinite possibilities, we have different time frames, theoretical and methodological perspectives that present us with an entire universe to be explored. This dissertation aims to explore one of these possibilities: the history of psychological knowledge based on travelers' reports published in the 19th century. Psychological knowledge is understood as that produced and disseminated in everyday life in the form of theories or practices, above all, that which, after the conception of psychology as a science, became its object. The sources researched are travel diaries of men who came to Brazil in the 19th century, whose missions were to record and detail information about the country and bring knowledge to the authorities about the various aspects of our territory, including geography, botany, economy, culture and population health, for example. This is a bibliographic study based on historicaldialectical materialism, whose works researched are authored by Auguste de Saint-Hillaire, George Gardner and Johann Baptist Emanuel Pohl. The works researched consist of major contributions to the history of brazilian psychology, mainly to the history of psychology in Goiás, providing rich discussion about how our people understood the psyche, human behavior and society. Critical reading and analysis culminated the identification and mapping of the following categories: “Customs: popular culture and ways of living life in Brazil”, “Religious diversity: one land, many Brazils”, “Knowledge about behavior: learning, education and control”, “Affects and temperament: emotions, character and self-knowledge”. The discussion allowed the understanding that psychological knowledge precedes scientific psychology and is closely related to popular wisdom, philosophy, medicine and education.

In this research, we aim to understand the permanences and ruptures of women in situations of domestic violence during the “Covid-19” pandemic. We start from the theoretical framework of historical-cultural psychology and feminism with a historical-dialectical materialist foundation. We develop the construction of femininity in the current historical context. We retrace the creation of the ideal of romantic love, motherhood and domestic care in modernity as a tool of patriarchal exploitation. We theorize about violence against women as an expression of this system. We relate gender oppression to the condition of Brazilian dependence and slavery. In this context, we carried out a brief survey of the relationships between domestic violence and the pandemic, envisioning processes of resurgence. We introduce the main epistemological bases of historical-cultural psychology to support the discussion. From them, we highlight the affective-volitional basis in the structuring of the psyche and activity. In light of this theoretical survey, we carried out narrative interviews with women who suffered domestic and family violence between 2020 and 2022. The analysis of the data generated was structured under a comprehensive bias, considering the historical-dialectical materialist theoretical-methodological foundation. We obtained data on the production of affections, thoughts and actions in women based on patriarchal ideology. We reflect on its relations with the capitalist mode of production and the consequent use of domestic violence as a tool to maintain this structure. In addition to a dominant construction of what it means to be a woman, we also discuss the lack of social support and survival conditions as conditions for remaining in a violent relationship. Given the small elaboration on the pandemic by the interviewees, we relate it to an increase in violence already experienced. We also emphasize that there are strategies of resistance and ruptures, even within the relationship, highlighting the affects of anger. We conclude that there is a need for new studies delving deeper into the relationships identified and the relevance of historical-cultural psychology in structuring the fight against violence against women and, beyond that, the fight against patriarchalism and its modal relationships with capitalism, colonialism and racism.

Suicide is defined by the World Health Organization in various publications as a complex and multifactorial event. It is considered a public health issue, requiring actions that enable awareness and prevention. Given this complexity, the aim of this study in the Master's degree in Psychology at the Federal University of Goiás, research line, Psychosocial and Educational Processes. Through this study we aimed to is to comprehend the psychological suffering of adolescents who attempt suicide, stemming from an original sense of helplessness, which is revived and intensified by their current sociocultural context, exposing them to situations of fragility and vulnerability. This qualitative research was conducted with adolescents who experience suicidal thoughts, drawing on the theoretical contributions of Freudian psychoanalysis and other contemporary authors. According to Freud, when confronted with sources of suffering, it becomes necessary for the individual to resort to palliative measures in order to alleviate the distress. When these measures fail, an outlet can be found through the attempt at suicide or the transition to suicidal acts, allowing the death drive to find its final outcome in self-destruction. Narrative interviews were conducted with the adolescents to gather data, and the analysis led to the conclusion that one of the factors triggering psychological distress and suicidal thoughts may be connected to the revived sense of helplessness during adolescence, particularly in the social and cultural spheres, conditions that currently shape their lives. According to Freud, protective forces could manifest through the displacement of libido towards actions such as love, art, and work. While nothing can render an individual entirely immune to suffering, the lingering question pertains to the scarcity of symbolic resources that, within sociocultural relationships, would allow for the elaboration of one's suffering.

Entre quatro paredes: as políticas (in)visíveis que permeiam o dispositivo clínico psicológico privado

This paper aims to map the politics within the private individual psychological clinic. As method, we implemented a bibliographic cartography and we interviewed 9 people who used the psychological device. The topics identified by the literature review have been categorized in four axes: (1) colonizing practices, the movements are aimed at maintaining a hegemonic subjectivity colonized by European standards; (2) psychotechnocracy, these practices seek to promote a universal truth about human beings and their behaviors; (3) capitalization of care, a practice permeated and guided by neoliberal logic; and (4) hope, a proposal for a politicized and transformative clinical practice. In the interviews, as per the logic of intensities, we identified the topics that emerged in their speeches: capitalism, psychologization and individualization, medicalization of life, racism, transphobia and homophobia, patriarchy and sexism, religiosity and hope. We conclude with a discussion about hope as a powerful practice, enabling other possibilities of living beyond the standards and models supported and reaffirmed by the policies exposed here.

The following study addresses the work of psychologists in Palliative Care, who experience, alongside both patients and relatives, moments of finitude in situations that have death as one of the possible outcomes. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted psychologists’ roles within multiprofessional teams which were based on a transdisciplinary approach. However, it is noted that the theories and competences which handle death and the process of dying are yet to be included in the national curricular directives of Psychology university programs, which leads to questioning whether Psychology professionals are actually well-prepared to work in the aforementioned field. This research focuses on the work of psychologists who handle death and the process of dying within Palliative Care teams. To reach the objective established, the experiences of psychologists in multiprofissional palliative care teams, when working with patients and relatives, were taken into account, emphasizing the competences and abilities required for interventions in situations which include death and the process of dying. The methodological course was of qualitative research, using narrative interviews as the method of choice. This allowed the apprehension of significant and subjective data regarding historical and sociocultural aspects, which provided a privileged space for speech and elaboration of life stories. In this study, three persons were interviewed, all three having worked in the Palliative Care field for at least two years. Results confirmed that psychologists’ knowledge regarding death and the process of dying is scarce, and that, to work in the palliative care field, Psychology professionals require theoretical knowledge. Considering said results, the present research indicates a need for inclusion of death and the process of dying in Psychology university programs, which might contribute to forming a holistic view of humanity.

The research has as its fundamental premise the work conception of as an ontological and historical category. The starting point was this conception to understand the particularity of retirement for elderly individuals in the current context of capital security, marked by the crisis in its structural base and by the revision of neoliberal policies. These markers affected, substantially, all spheres of workers' lives, both with respect to social and subjective aspects. The study aimed to identify, analyze and understand the meanings that retired workers receive the social benefits present in the relationships between work, subjectivity, retirement and old age in contemporary times. A survey is of the basic type of qualitative character. It is based on the Historical Dialectical Materialism method. Information and evidence, sources and testimonies were collected through the field diary and semi-structured interviews. As the time the interviews were carried out with six participants, three males and three females, aged 64 to 85 years old, retired after a long economically active life in the world of work. Proceed with a triangulation of information and sources. Objective-to apprehend or object of investigation, taking into account its real movement, marked by contradiction and located within a historical historical, characterized by the capital crisis. To do this, establish a dialogue with authors who approach this theoretical-methodological framework in the field of Social Sciences, Social Psychology at Work, Historical-Cultural Psychology and Social Work. The results of the investigation are that either the phenomenon of retirement in old age is conceived as the place of leisure, of having nothing to do, of unproductivity and disability, in which an association was established with the arrival of death. Old age retirement is also sent as freedom and personal fulfillment. It is noteworthy that it is permeated by the denial of old age, and that the forms of work exercised throughout life, as it is experienced by the subjects, reverberate in the experience of old age retirement.

The aim of this paper was to analyze the discourses and practices of the medical device in the pandemic facing mental health demands in the context of primary care. The research was based on documents such as scientific articles, dissertations, theses and other references published in databases, and the analysis was carried out using Foucault's genealogical historical perspective. In this research, two main sections have been developed, which were divided into two phases: 1) contemporary: mapping the normalizing function of the medical device in the pandemic in its disciplinary and control practices; 2) genealogical section between the 18th and 19th centuries: mapping and contextualizing the historical forces that cross the device in question to see how its developments converge in lines of knowledge, power and subjectivation in the contemporary. As a result, we found normalizing practices under the binary of normal versus pathological, presenting themselves as a phenomenon of medicalization, problematizing the place of psychology in relation to the processes presented, understanding new paradigms about scientific truth and the effects resulting from it.

This work aims to understand how Lacan's notion of the real led him to abandon an understanding of the analytic experience as based on intersubjectivity. For that, it was necessary to situate the following steps: the real thought as the impossible of representation, an emptiness, an outside of the meaning irreducible to the signifier; the real as das Ding – both elaborated by Lacan (1959-1960/1988) in Seminar 7: The Ethics of Psychoanalysis (1959-1960/1988); and the real as object a – as elaborated in Seminar 10: Anxiety (1962-1963/2005). The first part of this work addresses how Lacan's orientation towards a field of language, based on the emphasis on the symbolic, led him to a definition of the unconscious ─ as part of the concrete, transindividual discourse, an insistence of the signifying chain ─ which was based on a understanding of the analytic experience as being of the order of intersubjectivity. This intersubjective relationship takes place in the formation of the subject, in the relationship with the Other, in a field of language. By way of a counterposition, in the second part, whose aim has its precedents still in Seminar 2: The Ego in Freud's Theory and in the Technique of Psychoanalysis, we argue that Lacan (1954-1955/1985) already anticipates the real as opaque, as the indeterminate navel of the dream, which is capable of making any imaginary and symbolic relationship with the Other that is guided by intersubjectivity and recognition fade away. In the third part, we explain that Lacan in Seminar 7: The Ethics of Psychoanalysis (1959-1960/1988) addressed the real as that which is not structured by language, as a hole in the symbolic, an outside of meaning in which the subject is excluded inside. Thus, beyond the subject in the intersubjectivity of his relationship with the Other mediated by the signifier, there is the real of the Thing, which is behind the subject and which works in the dimension of the cause. Finally, in the fourth part, we explain that, in Seminar 10: Anxiety (1962-1963/2005), Lacan invented the object a as the rest of the subjective operation in which the subject arises. The constitution of the subject in the place of the Other leaves a residue irreducible to the signifier and outside the signification, which is the object a. Anguish is a sign of the real, of object a, which is impossible to be represented and recognized by the subject. The object a corresponds to an absence of the signifier that is proper to the Thing, to a remainder, to the real that is beyond an intersubjective relationship, as it makes the Other, through a contraposition, barred, incomplete, lose its consistency.

The present study addresses the issue of early childhood development, highlighting its importance and the relevance of Adverse Childhood Experiences (AEC) within this context. Psychology, when analyzing health, socio-historical and political aspects, recognizes the influence of EAIs on human development. The general objective of this work is to understand the routine of professionals from the Family Health Strategy Program (ESF) in relation to Adverse Experiences in Childhood (AIs) in their work environment at the Estrela D’Alva health unit and in the community served. The specific objective is to develop a conceptual matrix that addresses EAIs in the context of the Estrela D'Alva health unit, using Bronfenbrenner's Bioecological Theory of Human Development as a theoretical basis. To explore these experiences, interviews were conducted with professionals who work in the Family Health Strategy Program (ESF), at the health unit located in the Estrela D'Alva neighborhood, in Goiânia, Goiás. A semi-structured script was used during the interviews, in the in which 20 FHS professionals shared their routines, experiences and adverse experiences related to work, as well as their consequences for child development. Bardin's Content Analysis method was used, therefore in the light of qualitative reality. The results showed that the topics covered are closely linked to the reality of work in family health, situations of growth and development, the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on the vulnerabilities of early childhood and the precariousness of the physical structure of the health unit, in addition to of the overload faced by professionals. The final considerations highlight the limitations of the research and point to possibilities for monitoring and evaluating public health policies for early childhood, such as the importance of effective public policies, highlighting the need to monitor and evaluate such policies, considering the risk and protection factors for mental health at this crucial stage of life.

O não-todo significante do feminino em Lacan
(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2023-05-10) Braga, Leticia Ferreira; Burgarelli, Cristóvão Giovani; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7094012821984177; Burgarelli, Cristóvão Giovani; Marques, Rodrigo Vieira; Souza, Elizabeth Cristina Landi de Lima e
The present work aimed to investigate how the feminine position happens in relation to the significant Other (A), the phallic significant, in Lacan. For that, a cut of the Lacanian route was chosen, in which the focus is that the female position has the characteristic of being not-whole in front of the phallic meaning. A research consenting to the bias that the sexual position is not limited to genders, to body anatomies, on the contrary, it is about signifiers. Thus, initially this research revisits the freudian theory of the Oedipus Complex, through which the enigma of the feminine will be put into perspective, in a dialogue with authors who agree that the feminine position is related to the signifier of the phallic function, but that something escapes the significance that the Other has. Then, this work puts in view that the incompleteness that fundamentally characterizes the place of the Other (A) is announced in a lacanian way by understanding the signifier of the barred Other, S(Ⱥ), precisely what in freudian theory is left in suspense of that escaped the phallic law in the said girls, due to the fact that this incidence comes from the field of the mother's desire, the feminine, therefore, which, in turn, takes into account what also escaped the phallic law. It is, in this sense, therefore, versed in the work that the Other is the field in which the subject gains consistency, since the subject is what a signifier represents to another signifier; however, jouissance being that which points to something that is of the order of an event of the body that is neither founded nor guaranteed in the relationship with the Other, the mode of jouissance in the feminine position is shown to be crossed by the symbolic, but there is something else in this enjoyment mode. The phallic signifier appears; however, it does not contain what the feminine represents. That is why its logic is that of being not-all phallic and, in the face of phallic jouissance, the mode of operation of its jouissance, which will be unique to each of the women, also announces another logic, supplementary and from which it is only semi-true says because it doesn't close.

The present study aimed to analyze, from a psychoanalytic perspective and through the narrative of the construction of her motherhood, the subjective experience of a woman who became a mother in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. We know that the pandemic scenario has caused important psychosocial transformations around the world. In the specific context of motherhood, the pandemic experience brought unique challenges for women who gave birth during this period. Therefore, to achieve the proposed objective, we based the research on psychoanalytic theory. The bond between mother and baby is fundamental for the individual's psychological development, and the experience of motherhood is marked by unconscious conflicts and fantasies related to identification, narcissism, and sexuality. During the pandemic, the experience of motherhood was even more challenging, as mothers had to face a series of difficulties, including fear of contagion, difficulty accessing medical care, and lack of social and emotional support. To deepen the study of this experience, we used the case study as a research method and narrative interviews as a way of apprehending the maternal subjective experience. In the analyzed case, the interviewee shows the ambivalences of motherhood; however, she finds in her experience with her son, in the mother-baby bond, a contour for a void resulting from her life history and the pandemic context. With this study, we were able to conclude that the social and emotional effects of the Covid-19 pandemic involved the potentiation of conflicts and issues present in the participant's life history for her experience with motherhood. Therefore, we highlight the importance that psychological intervention had on the interviewee's experience, who mentioned several times how this process of confronting her insecurities and anxieties in a welcoming space was important to elaborate her conflicts.

The path outlined in this dissertation, based on the four fundamental concepts listed by Lacan in Seminar, Book 11, addresses the theme of the ethics of psychoanalysis, the clinical context, and the samples extracted in analysis as laws that permeate desire. The research consists of a literature review that describes the theoretical path traced by Lacan in Seminar, Book 07, with the aim of bridging the field of ethics with the field of morbid lack represented in the concept of the object a. This endeavor begins with the ethical issues inherent in the fundamental concepts, encompasses the process of subject formation, and ends with the reflections that the moral field assumes the presentification of the Real as such. The work draws on myths to reveal the constitutive division and impasses of becoming a subject in a field that belongs to the Other and, therefore, is lacking. The morbid lack causes attraction and horror to the subject and also drives them to search for the lost object, das Ding. It is possible to observe that the law, which arises as the effect of the object a, will be a trait that repeats itself like a malign fate, that is, a ghost that shapes everything from the fantasies of the absolute Other to the impasses of desire. The research notes the field of impossibility in which ethics is inserted, since any vicissitude of the drive will leave the inherent discomfort of the death drive. It can be inferred that psychoanalysis provides a subjective destitution that results in a subject warned of the limits of the Symbolic, the aggressiveness of the Imaginary, and the anguish of the Real, and that its ethics, despite being based on the impossible, that is, on what cannot be denied, allows for the opening for each subject to invent a singular form of differential repetition.

In this research, we aim to contribute to the historical materialist feminist critique to confront the foundations of Psychology based on the oppression of women and families in Brazil. To achieve this, we anchor ourselves in the theoretical framework of historical-dialectical materialism and marxist feminism. From some critical foundations that allowed us to reflect on Critical Psychology and feminism, both of post-structuralist bias, we conclude that Psychology, as a science and profession, is rooted in the bourgeois society's need to use science to maintain its hegemony. Attempts at reformulation that consider themselves independent from historical processes reinforce the psychological hegemony in which its foundations were established. Therefore, we choose the historical materialist feminist critique to understand the oppression of women and families without resorting to Critical Psychology and feminism as particular specialties that hold the true knowledge about social beings. This theoretical-ontological basis enables us to situate the object in the universality of capitalism and identify that the material axis of women's oppression is the sexual division of labor, a particularity of capitalist society that inaugurated the fragmentation between productive and reproductive work. We understand that the bourgeoisie produces and instrumentalizes the inequality between men and women and the social role of the family as a unit of social reproduction to foster capitalism in peripheral and central countries. The specificities of the Brazilian context are colonialism and enslavement, in which the enslaved Black woman serves as the foundation for dependent capitalism through stigmatization, overexploitation, and invisibility. Through the historical materialist feminist critique, we manage to know the roots and material bases of the oppression of women and families and highlight the particularities of dependent capitalism, enabling us to advance towards the radical transformation of society by facing it in its concrete reality and not naturalizing historical processes. Thus, we can strengthen social movements and create strategies of struggle and confrontation beyond the abstraction of psychological hegemony.

This research is a case study that aims to investigate suicide coping strategies at the Federal University of Goiás. Currently, suicide is the second cause of death in young people and part of this population is in training in the university environment. The university in our society is a privileged space for scientific training and human subjectivity, being the locus of scientific production. As secondary objectives, we seek to understand how suicide is expressed in the population of university students and what policies have been implemented in suicide care. The theoretical framework used was the Critical Theory of Society. Data were obtained through governmental and institutional documents on mental health and through semi-structured interviews with professionals from a mental health service at the university. Legislative documents and ordinances on mental health in Brazil and institutional ordinances incorporated by the Federal University of Goiás are also used. In addition, three semi-structured interviews were carried out, which were fully transcribed. The results indicate a gap in the University's policies for mental health care, in addition to a reduced number of professionals who attend the institution's main mental health service. It is concluded that suicide among young people, in current Western society, is directly related to feelings of imprisonment and impotence generated by the prevailing capitalist system. Suicide is understood as an expression of suffering and the impossibility of envisioning individual and social overcoming. It appears that Brazil has been a pioneer in the implementation of mental health policies in Latin America, but it has powers in its implementation. Therefore, it is considered that there are gaps in policies for suicide care in the university population, including prevention and postvention strategies, and few professionals trained in mental health care.

Literature as an artistic production has contributed and contributes greatly to humanity, being able to provoke in the reader a range of sensations. Psychoanalysis, in turn, in Freud and later with Lacan, intends to understand the human productions, its subjectivity, and how the unconscious makes itself present and goes through everything the subject produces, whether it is the symptom, the dream, the flawed act, its repetitions, etc. Hence, the present work explores, by means of an approximation between psychoanalysis and literature, the Lacanian concepts of alienation, repetition, and identification, being the latter also understood as a form of alienation. All these concepts are explored starting from a dialogue with literature, in particular, the work The Hour of the Star by Clarice Lispector. All these concepts are explored starting from a dialogue with literature, in particular, the work “The Hour of the Star” by Clarice Lispector. The present research is therefore established on a literature review, especially from a Lacanian point of view reading of Freud's work and commentators who contribute to the discussion of the studied themes. According to what we seek of showing, psychoanalysis and literature contribute mutually, in a degree of parity, not being subordinated to one another, and perhaps literature has much to teach us about the fields of possibility, particularly regarding interpretation. Furthermore, alienation through the Other appears to Lacan as a si ne qua non condition of subjectivity, and the complete separation being impossible. Lastly, we can conclude that both pairing psychoanalysis-literature and alienation-separation are themes of great complexity, on which we sought here to establish a starting point.

The aim of the present research is to map the distinct movements of the body and discuss local, Brazilian corporealities that express insurgent processes. To investigate the possibilities of reinventing the body and its resistances, we discuss the multiplicity of Brazilian corporealities and their various manifestations. As a method, we elaborated a study of the body based on an eschizodramatic cartographic research, referenced in the works of Gilles Deleuze, Félix Guattari, and Gregorio Baremblitt, in which we articulate bibliographic research, cartography in the field, and musical artistic references. We found in the Mangue Movement a referential artistic plasma, a Brazilian popular schizoanalysis, which we sampled the albums Da Lama ao Caos (1994) and Afrociberdélia (1996), by Chico Science & Nação Zumbi, as a device for incorporating our discussion proposal. From a bibliographic crossing, we elaborated a gaze with a counter-colonial perspective that made visible singular Brazilian corporealities that express themselves as possible reinventions in times of neoliberalism/neocolonialism. In this way, we followed processes that involved the connection of the accessed bibliography, creating our cartographic plan of ascent and organization, our networks and links, in order to affirm its transdisciplinary, transversal, nomadic, connective, and intensive character. The results of our research point to a discussion of the body as movement - a clash of forces, frictions, in short, of electricity, with art and the production of subjectivity. We highlight the mangrove body as a baião, which rocks the movements and rhythms that compose it, in a kinetic mixture instrumentally turned and moved, with the multiple and connective reach of the mangrove. Such connectivity offers propagation lines that rock an anthropophagic relation of Brazilian corporeality, highlighting the geographies and localities that involve peculiarities in our historical process, taking references from popular artistic movements, placing the body and corporealities as crossroads vitality. The composition of crossroad forces relationships of the body can take an aesthetic, strong firmament: the insurgent-Exu body.
