Resumo

The Speculum al Joder, of anonymous author and translator, is a companion possibly translated from the Arabian language to Catalan near the end of the XIV century and beggining of the XV, on which there's only one exemplar left joined to other medical work, the Catalan adaptation of Trotula’s texts. The document already expresses in of itself that it's not targeted exclusively towards physicians (physici), but at a broader audience and that many people could make use of its content filled with dietary and therapeutic practices meant for the sexual practice. This manual on coitus as due part of health regimens (Regimen sanitatis) that meant to avoid that disease took hold of oneself, preserving health was easier than healing disease. The humorous theory hippocratic-galenic is a fundamental part of the medieval medical knowledge. The rediscovery by the West of the galen arabic was fundamental for the development of medicine, specially in relation to sexuality and the preservation of ancient texts of philosophy and Science.
