Resumo
Biological populations are subject to catastrophes that can cause their extinction. When there are
survivors, these look for ways to restart a new colony. One of the strategies adopted by some
individuals is dispersion. In this work three models of colonies presented by Artalego et. al. [1],
Machado et. al [23] and Schinazi [9] will be analyzed to verify in which situations the dispersion is
a good strategy of survival. The catastrophes follow the binomial or geometric model and the
population grows following a poisson process with rate λ > 0, until the moment of collapse.
