Resumo
It presents, analyzes and discusses the experiences and social interactions between minors in
conflict with the Law and reading comic books, as a process of construction and development of
human beings. Specifically, it questions whether there can be a relationship of identification and
production of meanings or even reframing from the reading of the sequential narrative Castanha do
Pará, carried out by minors in conflict with the Law. Therefore, the research seeks to contemplate
and interpret as an object of social communication and the media can encompass concepts and
information that generate social impacts in these subjects through the reading of fictional genres,
identifying the social contexts and motivations that may provoke reflections through their social
realities, investigating the establishment of reading practices, reader training and promoting sociocultural development. To support the research, the main theorists consist of the following authors:
Thompson (1999), Chartier (2003), Dumont (2001; 2006; 2007), Santos (2014), Ramos (2019),
Eco (2011), Geertz (2008), Vergueiro (2009), Iser (1999), Thiollent (1986) and Foucault (2013), in
addition to the Child and Adolescent Statute - ECA (1990), National Council for the Rights of
Children and Adolescents - Brasil ( 2006), National Council for Social and Educational Assistance
- SINASE (2012) and Declaration of Human Rights (1948). The methodology used was a
qualitative approach based on an action research, seeking dialogue with minors in conflict with the
Law through interviews, questionnaires, reading mediation, discussions about the work and the
realization of an autobiographical narrative, that is, artistic expressions through drawings, writing
or oralization of experiences with this reading and the real world. The final results point to the fact
that interactions with the comic book aroused new ways of thinking in adolescents, redefining their
roles in society, generating meanings caused by the social impacts of the story and reading training
based on family influences. The studies also point to the ability to interpret the contents present
both in the texts and in the images of the comics, as the scenario of this sequential narrative evokes
feelings, facts and events that, when narrated by the minors, contribute to the reflection and
introjection of knowledge.
